THROUGH THE EXPANDING MARKETS INITIATIVE, BUSINESSES IN REGION WILL RECEIVE TECHNICAL SERVICES TO EXPAND ACCESS TO NEW MARKETS
Funding from this program will continue federal, state, and local efforts to support the diversification of West Virginia’s economy and provide much-needed support for businesses seeking to diversify their customer base. Services include general business retention and expansion, supply chain assistance, Economic Gardening research, and Exporting assistance, among others.
Services will be delivered through a unique partnership between Advantage Valley Inc, the Marshall University Advanced Manufacturing Center, and eight local economic development organizations (EDOs) listed below:
Assistance Will be Provided in the Following Areas:
General Business Retention & Expansion
This program links businesses with many existing free federal and state services including but not limited to workforce training, financing, and exporting, to name a few.
Supply Chain Assistance
This program provides technical assistance to small companies seeking to expand their regional B2B connections. Participants will have access to research, sales training, and participation in special supply chain events.
Economic Gardening Program
This program is geared toward young, fast-growing companies seeking market research and strategic consulting advice on entering new markets.
Export Assistance Program
This program provides funding to West Virginia small businesses looking to enter or expand in the global marketplace. Possible services include export counseling, market research, and international travel for trade shows and/or trade missions.
