Export Assistance

Advantage Valley is launching a program called Export Assistance designed to guide local companies through the process of starting their exporting journey or expanding into new international markets. In partnership with the U.S. Commercial Service’s Appalachian Rural Export Center (REC), this program offers customized research, training, and tools to help your business grow globally.

We are offering this program to empower rural companies to thrive in international markets through actionable market intelligence and global connections. Our goal is to serve 30 businesses in the Advantage Valley region over three years.

Advantage Valley is seeking growth-oriented companies in Boone, Cabell, Clay, Kanawha, Putnam, Lincoln, Mason, Jackson or Wayne Counties that sell to markets outside the region who are interested in exploring selling outside of the United States.

Advantage Valley is providing Financial Assistance of up to $5,000, with the potential to receive $15,000 more through STEP Funding through the WV Department of Economic Development. 

Does Your Company Qualify?

 

To apply for this program. Your business must meet the following eligibility criteria:

 

  • Is your business a for-profit, privately held company headquartered and operating in Advantage Valley, West Virginia? (Boone, Cabell, Clay, Kanawha, Putnam, Lincoln, Jackson, Mason or Wayne Counties)
  • Is your business currently producing and selling a product or service?
  • Is your company 95% owned by U.S. Citizens OR was it created under U.S. laws?
  • Is your company product produced with at least 51% U.S. made inputs?

What to Expect

 

  • Complete the Advantage Valley Export Assistance Application.
  • Once approved, initial meeting with the Appalachian REC will be scheduled.
  • Gain access to a team at the REC, assigned to your company to research for you, consult with you, and help you make strategic decisions about export opportunities.
